Free Bus Travel For Women In Delhi Is Poll Stunt: Manoj Tiwari
Mumbai: There are a lot of services for senior citizens for road traveling like that price tickets for senior citizens or free traveling. Well the CM of Delhi recently promised women of the state for free bus traveling over 55,000 state-run buses.
“Pink Ticket… I send heartiest greetings on Bhai Dooj to all the sisters of the Delhi family. May you stay safe and progress… The country can progress only when women progress, ” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi and highlighted that scheme for a Bhai door, the festival of brother and sister.
Meanwhile, Manoj Tiwari, Delhi Unit president called this scheme as the election stunt.
Speaking to ANI, Tiwari said: “This decision of Kejriwal is an election stunt. He has done nothing in the past so many months for women in the city. Kejriwal has taken this decision as the elections are just three months away.”
Tiwari also lambasted for not including students or any other senior citizens in this scheme.
“Why has he not included the students in the list. What about the aged people. Why this scheme was implemented just three months before the elections,” he added.
Tiwari also said that “After the tight slap of defeat, he started the process for implementing 10 percent reservation for economically weaker sections. He’s making such announcements to hold onto his ground in Delhi. It’s a desperate bid to buy votes.”
“Around one crore women in the city will need 20,000 buses, but we have just 3,500-3,800. Where will they sit?” Further, he added.
The Delhi Chief Minister has also stated that over 13,000 marshals have been appointed to ensure the safety of women in the buses plying across the national capital.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Monday had issued the notification to make travel free for women in all Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses on the basis of issuance of “single journey free travel pass” by bus conductors.
