Post the release, the love from fans and viewers has been continuous and overwhelming. Starting from a text from a couple in Lucknow who recently shifted to Gurgaon and related to the story of Zoya and Deep, to the text I got from a mother saying she loved the dynamic of Deep and his father. I’m constantly getting DM’s from fans and first-time viewers on how much they have enjoyed watching the film. The stupendous success of Comedy Couple has paved a path for me to challenge myself and explore different genres. ZEE5 Original film ‘Comedy Couple’ is based in Gurgaon, set against the backdrop of the burgeoning stand-up comedy scene in the city. #JokinglyYours The film revolves around the comedy couple duo ‘Zoya & Deep’, who are also real-life lovers. They are sharp, witty and a complete laugh-riot on stage. When one of their comedy acts go viral, their professional and personal lives collide, resulting in bittersweet realizations, which they must navigate to make sense of their relationship.
Apart from the lead cast of Saqib Saleem and Shweta Basu Prasad, the film also stars Pooja Bedi, Rajesh Tailang, Jasmeet Sinigh Bhatia, Aadar Malik, Subha Rajput, and Pranay Manchanda in supporting roles. Comedy Couple is directed by Nachiket Samant and produced by Yoodlee Films. The film is based on a story by Bikas Mishra with a screenplay by Raghav Kakkar and Kashyap Kapoor.
