In a letter to the police, Gambhir gave details of the email which he claims was sent by ISIS Kashmir. It read that the terrorist group was about to kill him and his family.

The BJP MP has been a vocal critic of cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. In February this year, Gambhir had said that any relationship with Pakistan should continue till the issue of cross-border terrorism is over. He said that the life of Indian soldiers is more important than anything else.
