Gangster Vikas Dubey, Wanted In Killing Of 8 Policeman, Arrested

Mumbai: Vikas Dubey, the main accused of the Kanpur encounter, has been arrested at a police station here on Thursday.

“Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur encounter case, has been arrested at a police station in Ujjain,” the report said.

Dubey is the main accused in an encounter in Kanpur last week in which a group of assailants allegedly opened fire on the police team who went to arrest him.

Eight police personnel were killed in the encounter.

Earlier today, Bahua Dubey and Prabhat Mishra, close to the main accused, were killed in separate encounters in Etawah and Kanpur respectively.

Whereas, Dubey’s aide Shyamu Bajpayee has been arrested by the Chaubeypur police after the encounter. He held a reward of Rs 25,000. Uttar Pradesh’s Special Task Force (STF) shot Amar Dubey, close to Vikas Dubey, in Hamirpur district earlier on Wednesday.
