Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister Jayant Patil said on Wednesday that the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government was not looking for a “blanket clearance” of cases in connection with the Bhima Koregaon violence.

Patil told reporters here, “We are not seeing any shortage of cases. We are only talking about non-serious crimes where the common people are connected in some way. We will consider such cases, which does not involve any serious crime. ”

He said, “We are also reviewing Maratha reservation protest and Dhangar reservation protest and a decision will be taken accordingly.”

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader further said that the final decision in the matter was with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray until a Home Minister was appointed by him.

“False cases were registered against Dalits in the Bhima Koregaon riots. I have written to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray requesting him to take back all these cases,” Gajbhiye told ANI.
