Girl Raped At Art Gallery In Delhi, Says Was Repeatedly Raped For A Year

Mumbai: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped for one year in Delhi, according to a complaint at Barakhamba Road police station. The girl in her complaint stated that the accused first raped her at an art gallery in Connaught Place.

The victim has filed a police complaint at Barakhamba Road police station and named the accused as Himanshu.

According to the complaint of the girl, she was raped for a year from August 2020. According to a report in the Times of India, the victim said in her complaint that the accused first raped her at Kohli Frame Art Gallery in Connaught Place.

The complainant said that she was intoxicated when accused Himanshu took advantage of this and raped her.

The victim further alleged that after the first incident, the accused repeatedly raped her at many places including Dwarka and Badarpur.

The police have booked the accused under IPC section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

After investigating the matter, the police arrested the accused Himanshu. He has been sent to police custody after being produced in a local court.

Recent National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data shows that Delhi had the highest number of crimes against women among all metropolitan cities in India.
