Mumbai: Mumbai Police have registered an FIR based on Zero FIR filed by Bihar Police in connection with the death of 26-year-old television actor Akshat Utkarsh in September.
Bihar Police registered a Zero FIR based on his family’s complaint against his girlfriend and her sister. Mumbai Police officials said that they booked a struggling actress and her sister for allegedly killing Utkarsh.
Zero FIRs have been transferred from Bihar to Amboli Police as per the procedure. According to police officials quoted by the news agency ANI, an FIR was lodged at Mumbai’s Amboli police station under sections 302 (punishment for murder) and 34 (in persons with a common intent in acts) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Amboli police officials said they were investigating the case and registered a case against a struggling actress and her sister for the murder of Utkarsh on Thursday.
Utkarsh was found dead on September 27 in his rented apartment in the Andheri area of Mumbai. According to Amboli police officials, he died by suicide and was depressed due to lack of work. However, his family had dismissed claims, saying Utkarsh was murdered. The Amboli police initially recorded an accidental death record (ADR) in connection with the case.
Akshat’s father Vijayakanth Choudhary had said in a written complaint that a struggling actor who was Akshat’s friend wanted to marry her. But when she refused to marry him, she killed him with the help of her sister, Amboli police officials said.
