Give Us Delhi Police For 2 Days, We Will Hang Nirbhaya Convicts: Manish Sisodia

Mumbai: Hitting back on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for blaming the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for the “delay” in the hanging of the convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape case Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said give us Delhi Police and law and order responsibility for two days and we will hang Nirbhaya convicts.
“Give us Delhi Police and law-and-order responsibility for two days and we will hang Nirbhaya convicts,” said Sisodia.
His statement comes after Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar had blamed the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government‘s “negligence” for the “delay” in the execution of the four convicts.

Responding to the Union Minister’s charge, Sisodia said: “Javadekar Ji police are under you, the responsibility of law and order is under you. Home Ministry is under you, Tihar Director-General and administration are under you and you are blaming us? Please don’t stoop so low on a sensitive issue. This is a clear attempt to instigate people.”

“I want to ask you (Javadekar) why you are not taking responsibility. If you are not able to handle Delhi’s law and order, then give us the responsibility of Delhi Police and Law and Order for two days and we Will hang Nirbhaya’s culprits.”

On Wednesday, the AAP government told the Delhi High Court that the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape case – Mukesh Kumar Singh (32), Akshay Kumar Singh (31), Vinay Sharma (26), and Pawan Gupta (25) – were scheduled for January 22. He will not be hanged as one of them has filed a mercy petition. According to the jail rules, the convicts cannot be hanged until they have exhausted all their remedies under the law.
