Goa Playing Important Role In Success Of World’s Largest, Fastest Vaccination Drive: PM Modi
India administered 2.5 crore vaccine doses setting a new World Record on September 17
Mumbai: Goa has successfully administered the first dose of vaccine to its 100% eligible population. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narender Modi applauded the healthcare workers of Goa for their efforts and said that Goa is playing a key role in the success of the world’s biggest and fastest vaccination drive.
“Goa is playing an important role in the world’s biggest and fastest vaccination drive- ‘Sabka Vaccine, Muft Vaccine.’ In the past few months, Goa fought bravely against heavy rainfalls, cyclones, and floods under the leadership of CM Pramod Sawant,” ANI quoted PM Modi.
I thank team Goa for their work during such a time. Every eligible person in Goa has received a dose of vaccine. This is important in the fight against corona. Congratulations to all the people in Goa for this. This kind of coordination that goa has shown to address social and geographical challenges is commendable. The Canacoona sub-division, which is situated far and wide in the state, is proof of rapid vaccination as in the rest of the state,” he added.
Modi further said that Goa’s vaccine wastage prevention model will help other parts of the country.
Interacting with the healthcare workers, he applauded their efforts in setting a new world record by administering a 2.5 crores vaccine in a single day.
PM said, “The largest vaccination doses administered on September 17 with over 2.5 crores vaccines by Indian healthcare workers is admiring and shows our dedication to fight with this pandemic. The government is trying to make sure that not a single citizen of India faces difficulty during these times.”
“I also want to appreciate all the doctors, medical staff, people associated with the administration in the country. The achievement shows India’s strength and the entire world will acknowledge it,” he further added.
The healthcare workers extended their greetings to PM Modi on his 71st birthday.
