Mumbai: An official of the state health department said that 40 new coronavirus positive cases were reported in Goa on Monday, with the infection count being 54,275, while two deaths brought the toll to 781.

59 people were discharged after treatment in the day, the number of cures in Goa increased to 52,969, he said, leaving the state with 525 active cases now.

He said that with 1,220 new tests, the total number of samples tested so far in Goa has been 4,73,449.
