Godavari River Water Level Raises More Than 50ft. Mark At Bhadrachalam

Mumbai: Godavari river water level at the Bhadrachalam region at 8 p.m. on Sunday crossed the 50ft, mark which is just above the 2 feet the second warning level. The increase in the levels is considered due to the overflowing of its other tributaries. The river Indravati crossed the first warning level of 43 ft. around 12:30 am and the second warning level at 48ft at noon on Sunday.

The levels of Godavari river were expected to rise up to 53ft. till Monday morning. The Central Water Commission Lower Godavari Division has sent a yellow flood alert on late Sunday evening in Dowaleswaram, Polavram and Kunavaran reservoirs in the Godavari Basin.

Residents from the places like Burgumpahad, Charla, Dummugudem, Aswapuram and Manuguru were asked to shift to safer places as these low-lying regions were posed to more dangers if floods ever occurred.

Control rooms in Bhadrachalam sub-collectorate in Bhadrachalam and collectors office in Kothagudem have also been opened.
