Good Governance Day: Modi Govt Took Decisions That Did Good To People Says, Amit Shah

Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the opposition, saying that the last 21 governments have taken decisions keeping their vote bank in mind.

Speaking at the Good Governance Day event in Delhi, the Union Home Minister lauded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Center and said that it always took decisions that were good for the people of the country.

“The last 21 governments have taken decisions keeping in mind their vote banks. Narendra Modi govt never took decisions that ‘looks’ good to the people, he always took decisions that ‘did’ good to the people,” ANI quoted Shah as saying.

The Home Minister was speaking at an event in the national capital on the occasion of Good Governance Day.

Earlier in the day, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes at the ‘Sadaiva Atal’ samadhi in the national capital.

“Tributes to respected Atal Ji on his birth anniversary. Remembering Atal Ji on his Jayanti. We are inspired by his rich service to the nation. He devoted his life to making India strong and developed. His development initiatives positively impacted millions of Indians.” Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday is celebrated as the ‘Good Governance Day’,” PM Modi said in a tweet.

Vajpayee, who headed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government from 1998-2004, was the first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader to become the country’s prime minister.

He served as prime minister three times – briefly in 1996, and again for two terms between 1998 and 2004.
