Government Issues Guidelines For Passengers As Domestic Airways To Resume Soon

Mumbai: The Airport Authority of India has issued certain guidelines for domestic Air Travel which is expected to resume soon in a ‘graded manner’.

Aarogya Setu app will be mandatory on the smartphones of the passengers who wish to travel by air. Wearing a mask is another obligatory measure with other protective gear.

The passengers are advised to maintain four feet of physical distance with other co-passengers, according to the guidelines.

“Due to the spread of the coronavirus infection, passengers are being advised to use hand sanitizers frequently. Therefore it has been decided that the passengers boarding an aircraft will be allowed to carry in his/her hand baggage liquid hand sanitizers up to 350 ml,” the guidelines said.

The passengers will have to do web check-in and carry a print out of the boarding pass. The AAI has also suspended the stamping of boarding passes to reduce contacts between passengers and Airport Staff.

Indian Airports are likely to resume the domestic flights with 25 – 30 percent of its capacity according to Hardeep Puri, the Civil Aviation Minister.
