Government To Invest 100 Lakh Crore For Infrastructure Upgradation

Mumbai: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting Union Budget 2019-20 in Lok Sabha on Friday said that the central government will spend Rs 100 lakh crore on upgradation of infrastructure.

Sitharaman said, “In the next five years, an investment of Rs 100 lakh crore is to be invested in the infrastructure sector. An expert committee will be set up to recommend the structure and flow of funds through development finance institutions.”

Sitharaman also said that the Central Government has set a target of generating Rs 1.05 lakh crore through Disinvestment during current financial year-2019-20.

She also said that the launch of Central Budget 2019-20 in the Lok Sabha on Friday will have to start again from Air India (AI) strategist.

He said, “Strategic disinvestment of selected Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE) will be a priority.” Strategic disinvestment of Air India will resume, and for 2019-20, there is a disinvestment target of 1 lakh 5000 rupees. ”

The Finance Minister also said that the government is considering to go below 51 per cent from a reasonable level of ownership share in Non-Financial Public Sector Undertakings on the basis of matter.
