Hardik Pandya And KL Rahul To Miss One Day Series Against Australia, After Coffee With Karan Controversy

Mumbai: After much discussion finally Committee of Administration (CoA) has come up with the decision that KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya will be called back to India after making sexist comments on Koffee with Karan Show. Which means they will miss three-match one day series against Australia which is scheduled from Saturday.

Diana Edulji, who is a member of the Supreme Court appointed CoA, ) has recommended the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to set up an inquiry committee which will look into this controversy.

This can be a big setback for Pandya and Rahul, both players have been temporarily suspended. On Thursday, the CoA had recommended two matches ban for both of them after Karan’s comments on Koffee with his sexist comments.

As per reports, a notice will be sent to both the players which will showcase point-by-point breaches, in addition to that an inquiry committee will be set up in 15 days.

After the legal opinion, Diana suggested immediate suspension, which was supported by BCCI’s acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary.

“It is imperative that players be suspended for this misconduct till the action of the BCCI CEO (Rahul Johri) is taken away, when they were sent on vacation in the case of sexual harassment,” Edulji’s response is a legal opinion which is in the possession of PTI.

Based on legal opinion and the final procedure is laid down to address this issue, will recommend that communication is sent to concerned players and team immediately,” Edulji wrote in response to recommendations from the Board’s legal firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

Whereas the law firm made it clear that the rude comments made by Pandya do not come under the preview of the Code of Conduct.

In the show, Pandya boasted about his date and hookups with many women and also told how he told his parents about losing her virginity.

“When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, ‘Mein karke aaya hai aaj (I had sex today)’.” Pandya had said on the show.

“At a party, my parents asked me acha tera wala [your women] kaun sa hai, so I said yeh, yeh, yeh [pointing out to some women] and they were like ‘waah proud of u beta’,” he added.
