Haryana And Maharashtra Assembly Elections To Be Held On Oct 21

Mumbai: The Election Commission of India announced on Saturday that the elections to the Maharashtra and Haryana assemblies will be held on October 21.

Elections will be held in a single phase for 288 seats in Maharashtra and 90 seats in Haryana. The votes of both states will be counted on October 24.

By-elections to 64 constituencies across Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, MP, Meghalaya, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana &Uttar Pradesh, to be held on Oct 21 ; counting on Oct 24

Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora said, “Election campaigns impose an environmental cost upon us. We appeal to political parties to avoid the use of plastic and use only environment-friendly material in their campaigns.”

Haryana has 1.82 crore registered voters and Maharashtra has 8.94 crore voters.
