Heavy Rains To Hit Mumbai For Next Three Days

Mumbai: India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday that heavy to very heavy rains in Mumbai in the next three days is expected.

After which, Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Barve tweeted, “I request the residents of Mumbai to check weather updates and plan for the same day.” He said, “Keep in mind, stay safe and help us reach the Mumbai Police for help,” he said.

Due to heavy rainfall overnight in Mumbai delayed several trains, flights, and waterlogging was reported from various parts of the city.

According to a report by the news agency PTI, Municipal Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi said 540 mm of rain fell in two days in the city, the highest over a two-day period in a decade, and attributed “climate change and changed geographical conditions.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department had warned of “extremely heavy” rain in areas adjacent to Thane and Palghar on July 2 and 4. There may be heavy to very heavy rains in some places in Mumbai on Monday and Tuesday.
