Her Ideology Has Destroyed Bengal: PM Modi Slams Mamata Banerjee

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of depriving the farmers of the state of the central government’s schemes.

He reiterated the Centre’s stand on controversial agricultural laws, stating that they are only for the benefit of farmers.

After releasing more than Rs 18,000 crore to over 9,000 farmer families across the country, Prime Minister Modi interacted and addressed the farmers through a video conference.

Beginning his address, PM Modi said, “Today, more than Rs 18,000 crore has been deposited directly into the farmers’ accounts; no middleman, no commission.”

In a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee, Modi claimed that Bengal farmers were deprived of the benefits of the Centre’s schemes. “Bengal is the only state which is not allowing the benefits of the schemes to reach the farmers,” he said.

“Mamata Banerjee’s ideology has destroyed Bengal. Her actions against the peasants have hurt me a lot. Why is the opposition silent on this?”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released Rs 18,000 crore as the next installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme to over 9 crore farmers.

PM Modi also interacted with farmers after the release of Rs 18,000 crores as part of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

Under the PM-KISAN Scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible beneficiary farmers, payable in three equal 4-monthly installments of Rs 2000 each through direct benefit transfer.
