Highest Spike As India Reports 7,964 COVID-19 Cases For The Second Consecutive Day

Total Number Of Coronavirus Cases In India Rises To 694; Death Toll Reaches 16

Mumbai: India has witnessed the highest Spike in its count of COVID-19 cases with 7,964 positive cases and 265 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

India has switched to the 9th most hit COVID-19 country with a tally of 1,73,763. The country homes to 86,422 active cases and 82,370 recoveries. The death toll is at 4,971.

The statewide figures are as follows. Maharashtra 62,224, Tamil Nadu 20,246, Gujarat 15,934, and Delhi 17,384 as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Maharashtra has however recovered 26,997 patients and currently has 33,133 active cases in the state.

The Home Minister has contacted the Chief ministers of the states to review the Covid-19 situation. The nationwide lockdown, currently in the fourth phase is expected to be expanded viewing the situation with certain relaxations in non containment areas.
