“Hope Narendra Modi Will Use His Big Mandate,” Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Mumbai: Currently India-Pakistan relationship is at “lowest-point” Prime Minister Imran Khan said, in the sidelines of SCO Summit here.

Meanwhile, he expressed hope that his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will use his “big mandate” to resolve all differences, including the Kashmir issue.

In an interview given to Russian news agency Sputnik before going to Bishkek, Khan said that the SCO summit gave them an opportunity to talk to the Indian leadership to improve the relations between the two neighbors.

Khan said that the SCO Summit provided Pakistan with a “fresh outlet” to develop its relations with other countries including India.

He said, currently our bilateral relations with India are at their lowest point.

Khan said that Pakistan was open to “any kind of arbitration” and seek peace with all its neighbors, especially India, saying that three “small wars” have harmed the two countries Are now battling “the largest amount of poverty”.

Khan said that dialogue should be stressed on resolving peace and differences through dialogue.

“Our main difference with India in Kashmir. And if two governments decide, if two governments decide, then this issue can be resolved. But, unfortunately, we have not got much success from India so far, “he said.

Khan said, “But we hope that the present Prime Minister has a big mandate and we hope that he will use this mandate to develop a better relationship and bring peace in the subcontinent.”

Narendra Modi, Imran Khan both are in 2 days visit to Bishkek for SCO summit 2019.
