HRD Minister Released “Alternative” Academic Calendar For Classes XI And XII

Mumbai: Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal released an alternative academic calendar for classes XI and XII on Wednesday.

“The calendar provides guidelines to teachers on the use of various technological tools and social media tools available for imparting education in fun-filled, interesting ways, which can be used by learners, parents, and teachers even while at home,” Pokhriyal said in an official release.

Pokhriyal further said that it has taken into account the varying levels of access of students to different tools and platforms – Mobile, Radio, Television, SMS, and various social media.

For specially-abled students, links for Audiobooks, Radio programs and Video programs will be included in the calendar.

“This will empower our students, teachers, school principals, and parents to find out positive ways to deal with Covid-19 using on-line teaching-learning resources and help in the attainment of learning outcomes,” he further added.

Under the guidance of the HRD ministry, NCERT has developed this calendar to engage students meaningfully during their stay at home due to COVID19.
