Humbled To Receive ‘Player Of The Tournament’ Award At U19 World Cup: Yashasvi Jaiswal

Mumbai: Just a few days after receiving the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award at the U19 Cricket World Cup, star batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal said on Tuesday that he was humbled to receive the award.

He also hoped to start a brilliant career. India suffered a three-wicket defeat in the U19 World Cup final against Bangladesh.

The match saw some high-voltage action and players from both sides were also involved in a scuffle after the match ended.

Jaiswal posted a picture on Instagram and said: “As I now have the time to look back on all the hard work, perseverance and discipline, who succeeded in fulfilling a much-anticipated dream when I walked on the ground to represent me Done. Countries for all prestigious ICC World Cup finals.”

Jaiswal ended the tournament with 400 runs in six matches. He also scored a century in the semi-final match against Pakistan.

The batsman will now appear in action in the upcoming Indian Premier League for Rajasthan Royals. He was picked at an auction of INR 2.4 crores.
