Mumbai: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman slammed Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra referring the issue of her migrants over the UP government. Sitharaman termed it as the hypocrisy of Congress.’
In an exclusive interview with ANI Sitharaman said that if Priyanka Gandhi was really focused about the UP government, she should see that even when five to seven trains did not arrive in Chhattisgarh, 300 trains arrived in the state.
The minister said that she did not want to politicize the issue and that everyone should work together in an extraordinary situation due to the coronovirus crisis.
“If she is really focused on the UP government, then she should look at why 300 trains arrived in UP when even five-seven did not arrive in Chhattisgarh. I don’t want to politicise this as migrants are Indians and all of us in this extraordinary situation should concentrate and work together,” she told ANI.
“Three hundred trains opposed. 7. I’m not saying the population size is comparable, but the migrants are probably comparable. Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand – the numbers can be compared all over UP together. This is unfair, dirty and clearly shows the hypocrisy of Congress,” she added.
The Congress on Wednesday allowed the Yogi Adityanath government to allow 1,000 buses arranged by the party to “not go to their home. Priyanka Gandhi spoke on the issue through the party’s social media platforms on Wednesday.
