Mumbai: Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said on Wednesday that he is not joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“I am not joining BJP,” said Pilot in a telephonic conversation with ANI.
The comment came a day after he was sacked from the post of Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Head of the State Congress Committee.
The decision to sack the pilot was taken yesterday after a CLP meeting at the Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The Rajasthan Congress has been in turmoil for the last few days. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accused the BJP of trying to destabilize the state government by poaching state legislators, but the pilots are camping in Delhi.
The controversy erupted in Rajasthan after the Special Steering Group (SOG) sent a notice to Congress MLAs in Rajasthan for recording their statement in the alleged poaching case.
