I Changed My Seam Position: Yuzvendra Chahal On 3/20 vs SA

Mumbai: Team India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who was named Player of the Match for registering figures of 3/20 in the third T20I against South Africa, said he changed his seam position and focused on his strengths in the game.

Chahal, who conceded over 10 runs per over in the last two games, returned with figures of 3/20 in his four overs at an economy rate of five. The 31-year-old dismissed Dwayne Pretorius, Rassie van der Dussen and the hero of the previous match, Heinrich Klaasen, to break South Africa’s backbone. Also Read: ‘Wasn’t Our Best Effort’ , Reckons SA Skipper Bavuma After Loss In 3rd T20I Over India

Highlighting the changes in the game at the post-match presentation ceremony, Yuzvendra Chahal said, “I bowled a lot of sliders and bowled fast in the previous matches. Today, I have changed my seam position. Spinning and ball two Getting the dip is my strength. Today, I tried to turn it on and bowl slow.”

He said, “I tried to bowl according to my strength, I focused on that. When batsmen try to reverse-sweep, it becomes difficult for the bowlers. But now, I have another one. Have a plan. And decide the area accordingly.”

Along with Chahal, Harshal Patel also made a significant contribution, picking up four wickets as India successfully defended 179 runs. The hosts won the match by 48 runs after bowling out South Africa for 131 runs and kept the series alive.
