I Have Been Waiting For Last Five Years To Get A Chance: Rinku Singh

Mumbai: KKR’s Rinku Singh, who was named Man of the Match for his unbeaten 42-run innings against RR, said he has been waiting for the last five years to get regular chances in IPL.

Rinku Singh smashed an unbeaten 42 off 23 balls with six fours and a maximum as he and Nitish Rana (48*) chased down a 153-run target with ease for a seven-wicket win against RR.

Man of the match, Rinku said in a post-match presentation: “A lot of players have played Ranji from Aligarh, but I am the first player to play IPL.”

“This is a big-league and there is a lot of pressure obviously. I have been waiting for the last five years to get a chance. I worked very hard, came back from injury and did well in the domestic circuit as well.”

“When I was batting, Bhaiyya (Rana) and Baz (McCullum) told me to stay till the end and finish it,” he added.

KKR got back on their winning track in IPL 2022 after registering a 7-wicket win against RR at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh formed a match-winning partnership that changed the face of the game as KKR registered a crucial win.
