I Was And Am Available’ – Virat Kohli Confirms Availability For SA ODIs

Mumbai: India’s Test captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday (December 15) addressed a press conference where he said that he is available for the ODI series against South Africa and as per reports in the past few days he did not ask for a break.

“I am available for selection for the ODI series against South Africa. No communication with the BCCI about being rested. This question should be asked to the people who are writing about this, not me. These are lies. I have not asked BCCI to rest me,” Kohli said. Also Read: There Is No Problem Between Me And Rohit, I am Tired Of Clarifying It: Virat Kohli

A day before the press, several reports suggested that Kohli had sought a break after the three-match Test series to be with his family and celebrate his daughter Vamika’s first birthday, however, BCCI quashed the claim saying that Kohli hadn’t asked for any break and was very much part of the ODI series.

Asked about how he looked at his journey at the helm of the team in the limited-overs, Kohli said that he has taken pride in his performances and has done the best according to his potential.

“I have done the best that I could. Have taken pride in my performances. the motivation of the team will not drop. About captaincy, I have been honest and have done that up to my potential. About my batting, when you know you’ve been doing well, you know how to perform. Those things won’t go away. It’s about understanding your game and doing what you have been.”
