IAF Completes 89 Years; Chief Chaudhari Pledges To Lead IAF With Good Leadership

Mumbai: The Indian Air Force celebrated its 89th anniversary at Hindan Airbase, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari inspected the Air Force Day parade.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh and Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane also attended the 89th Air Force Day parade at Hindan airbase.

During his address, IAF Chief saluted the former chiefs of IAF for their visionary leadership and pledged to lead the IAF with clear directions and best of the resources.

“As Indian Air Force enters 90th year, the men and women in blue, who serve the nation today, are proud custodians of a legacy of valour, sacrifice and pioneering spirit. I pledge to do all I can to provide you with clear directions, good leadership and the best of resources that I can muster,” Chaudhari said.

“Their achievements haven’t come without cost. In particular, I salute the former chiefs for their visionary leadership as challenges continue to rise so does our strength and resolve to ensure the best possible application of airpower,” the chief added.

Chaudhari assured that the IAF aims at achieving desired effects with optimum means and would not allow external forces to violate in our territory.

“When I look at the security scenario we face today, I’m acutely conscious that I’ve assumed command at a crucial time. We must demonstrate to the nation that external forces will not be allowed to violate our territory,” Chaudhari said.

He added, “In sync with the changing nature of war-fighting, the ongoing capability enhancement in the IAF is aimed at providing the optimum means for employing airpower and achieving desired effects across domains swiftly and decisively.”

Chaudhari further went on to say about the impacts of complex interplay by geopolitical forces,” The prompt actions in response to developments in eastern Ladakh was a testament to Indian Air Force’s combat readiness… The security environment in our region and beyond has been impacted by a complex interplay of geopolitical forces.”
