ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Dale Steyn Ruled Out Of Tournament With Shoulder Injury

Mumbai: For South African cricket team, a major setback for his leading fast bowler Dale Steyn is out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

After failing to recover from the shoulder injury, Stan has been removed from the Proteas team for the Quantanial Event. Stan, who took South Africa’s fifth-greatest ODI wicket, returned with the same issue from the Indian Premier League and missed out on the first two matches of his team’s campaign in the Cricket World Cup.

South African fast bowler had done surgery for this problem in 2016 and was suffering from problems with his shoulder before and after that procedure. He has a repetition of the problem and will not be available for the future.

Steyn will be replaced by left-arm left-arm bowler Beuran Hendricks in the South African team who made his ODI debut against Pakistan in January this year.

Hendricks’ return to ODIs is limited by now, with only one wicket in two matches, but they have had more success in T20 Internationals where they have taken 16 wickets at an average of 18.93. Hendrix also claimed his best T20I career against Pakistan in January when he scored 4/14 in Centurion.

South Africa lost against England and Bangladesh and started the tournament with two defeats in their opening fixtures. Proteas’s next match will take place in the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton on June 5. They are now going without stench, this important stability and the rest of the tournament.
