ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Schedule Announced; India To Face Pakistan On Oct 23

Mumbai: The ICC has announced the schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, with the Super 12 stage to begin on October 22. The T20 event is slated to begin on 16th October 2022 and will conclude on 13th November 2022.

India’s campaign at the tournament will start with a Super 12 Group 2 match against Pakistan on October 23.

A total of 16 teams will play in the tournament, out of which 12 will qualify for the Super 12 stages. So far Australia, Afghanistan, England and New Zealand have been placed in Group 1, while India, South Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh have been placed in Group 2.

The Super 12 stages will begin on 22 October 2022, with Australia and New Zealand clashing in a blockbuster match. And, on 23 October 2022, another mega clash is about to take place, as India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan.

From 16 October to 21 October 2022, qualifying matches will be held which will determine the 4 teams that will join the 8 other teams that have already qualified for the event. The 2021 T20 World Cup was won by the Australian team and they defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets.
