ICC Supports Cancellation Of Test Match Between Ban VS NZ

Mumbai: The third Test between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Christchurch has been called off following a shooting attack in the city on Friday, 15 March.

Friday, March 15 arrived with a piece of gruesome news as reports of a shooting incident appeared from Christchurch, New Zealand. It attracted immediate attention as the shooting sights were Mosques in the middle of the city.

This attack was ‘one of the darkest days of New Zealand’ announced by New Zealand’s Prime Minister.

ICC’s CEO David Richardson said in an official statement, “The thoughts and condolences of ours will sincerely go to the families and friends of those who are affected by this horrendous incident in Christchurch. Both teams, staff, match officials are safe and ICC supports fully the decision to cancel the test match.”

When the incident took place the Bangladesh team was on their way to the Masjid Ali Noor to offer Friday prayers.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board is in constant contact with the players and team management and also with New Zealand cricket.”

Both teams, staff and match officials are safe, and the ICC fully supports the decision to cancel the Test match.
