ICC World Cup: ‘Stay Clam’ Its Just A Match Not A War, Wasim Akram On Indo-Pak CWC Match

Mumbai: Tomorrow it would be high-pressure game for both the side India-Pakistan and the craze for the match is in full swing.

Meantime, former pace bowler Wasim Akram has appealed to the fans of both the nations to maintain calm and peace.

Currently, as a commentator for the Quadrilateral event in England, Wasim termed the latest meeting between neighbouring countries as “World Cup’s greatest match”.

But due to excessive stress in the financial position between the two countries and political relations, the great fast bowler said that the match should be enjoyed to instigate the situation.

“It cannot be big”, Wasim was quoted by AFP.

“India and Pakistan, playing in the World Cup with more than a billion viewers, is the biggest thing in cricket, so my message of fans to enjoy the set and stay calm.

“One team will win, one team will lose, so be adorned and do not take it as a war. Those who present this match as war, they are not true cricket fans,” he said.

Akram, who has seen many such moments in his stunning cricket career, also spoke about the pressure on the players of both the teams. Wasim said, “Who can feel more pressure than me?” “I was looking forward to a match against India because it brings out the best of the players on both sides.”

“Pakistan can beat India through controlled aggression,” he further said.

If the reports are to believed the tickets are now for sale at the price of approximately 2,500 pounds ($ 3,150) in the black market.

Wasim admitted that India has a strong line-up, but insists Pakistan can still shock their rivals in each match, as they did in the 2017 Champions Trophy final. He said, “Yes, India has strong batting and bowling line, but Pakistan can compete with them. When it comes to India and Pakistan, the team that handles the pressure well wins the day.”

Pakistan has never beaten India in six World Cup matches dating back to 1992, but the 53-year-old thinks that poor run could change on Sunday.

Team India stands at the fourth spot in the leaderboard with five points from three matches. Whereas Pakistan is presently at eighth place with three points.
