I’ll Give My Evidence Once The Army Initiates Investigation: Shehla Rashid

Mumbai: Shehla Rashid while addressing a group of reporters said that she was ready to dispose of all the evidence in front of the army only when the army will start the investigation. The Tukde Gang leader said that she stands firm with her decision as the truth is on her side.

Rashid was also spotted on the Jantar Mantar Protest against the abrogation of article 370. When approached by the reporters she denied passing a statement but later on she defended her tweets by saying that all of her claims on twitter about the atrocities done by Indian Army on Kashmiris had come after having a conversation with genuine Kashmiri residents.

When the reporters asked Rashid for evidence for her claims, she retaliated by saying, “I will provide evidence once the Indian Army starts an investigation. I am absolutely confident about my statement. The truth is on my side.”

Shehla when asked why she had tweeted without sharing the evidence she rebutted by saying, “Don’t I have the right to use twitter in the rule of Modi Government? Has Modi banned using twitter to convey the inconveniences faced by people in the valley?”

Several days ago, Shehla Rashid tweeted against the Indian Army saying that the Indian army was imposing atrocities on the people in Kashmir. In her tweet she said, “Armed forces are entering houses at night, picking up boys, ransacking houses, deliberately spill out rations on the floor, mixing oil with rice.”

She had further tweeted, “In Shopian, 4 men were called in the army camp and interrogated (tortured). A mic was kept so close to them so the entire area could hear them scream and be terrorized. This created an environment of fear in the entire area.”

Soon after the media and citizens alike started bombarding twitter with claims of her being one with Pakistan and the main reason for fear and rumour-mongering. On 18th August the #ArrestShehlaRasheed tag was trending in India as several Indians demanded an arrest of the Tukde Gand leader.
