IMD Withdraws Heavy Rain Alert, Predicts Normal Rainfall For Now

Mumbai: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had reduced the warning of heavy rain on July 5 in Mumbai and its suburbs. Weather officials have now predicted light to moderate rains in the region from July 4 to July 5.

Shutting down winds of Mumbai and its suburbs finally ended on Wednesday evening.

Private weather agency SkymetWeather tweeted on Thursday, “Spells of #rain will occur over #Mumbai, Mumbai Suburban, #Palghar and #Thane during next 2-3 hours.”

According to a report, IMD Santacruz Observatory said that in Mumbai, there was light rain of 4.1 mm in 12 hours which ended at 8:30 on Wednesday. During the same period on Tuesday, the city had 24 mm rainfall.

Notably, 26 people were killed after the heavy wall fell in Mumbai on Tuesday, after the wall collapsed in Pimpriepada area of ​​Malad East. Apart from this, a small dam named Tiwari in Tahsil Chiplun of Ratnagiri had created flood-like conditions in 7 Downstream villages, the News Agency ANI said on Wednesday.
