Imran Khan Again Threatens India With Nuclear War Over Citizenship Law

Mumbai: Amid ongoing buzz over the most controversial Citizenship Amendment Act in India, Pakistan PM Imran Khan has once again threatened New Delhi with nuclear war over CAA 2019 which promises Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees of the neighbouring countries.

Addressing the first Global Refugee Forum as a co-convener here on Tuesday, Khan said: “I want to tell the whole world that they should know about the biggest impending refugee crisis [in South Asia].”

He was clearly referring to the recently enacted Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, which promises Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, on or after December 31, 2014, First came to India.

Khan commented, “We in Pakistan are not just worried that there will be a refugee crisis, we are worried that it could lead to a confrontation. A conflict between the two nuclear-armed countries.”

In his first address to the UN General Assembly meeting, in the event of a nuclear war with India, after the revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi on 5 August, Khan had serious consequences in the event of a nuclear war with India.

“If a traditional war between the two countries starts, anything can happen. A country seven times smaller than its neighbour will do what it does – either surrender or fight for its independence,” he told the U.N

“I believe we will fight and when a nuclear-armed country fights to the end, it will be beyond borders. I am warning you. This is not a threat, but concerns about where we are going. It is wrong to do it. You hope for the best but prepare for the worst, “the Prime Minister said.
