India And France Team Up To Fight against Terrorism

Mumbai : In another development, India and France have teamed up to fight against terrorism, French Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Indian Foreign Affairs Sushma Swaraj said in a statement. 

On the other hand, New Delhi and Paris are already working together on several international forums, including the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). 

“This is true on the strategic front, especially with strengthening our exchanges on the Indian Ocean, which are fast developing today and our shared commitment to fighting terrorism is because we mark ten years since the deadly Mumbai attacks” Le Drian. 

Meanwhile Sawraj stated that “both the nations are jointly working on Jaitapur nuclear power project.” 

“We have also signed the status of progress for the implementation of the industrial route; Forward Agreement, India and France have historic defense cooperation, both countries are working together in many areas,” Swaraj added. 

“As president Macron and Prime Minister Modi had directed us in spring, we have reviewed the status of EPR project in Jaitapur and adopted an action plan to guides our work for the coming months so as to advance as efficiently as possible towards the final decision for building this power plant,” said Le Drain. 

Swaraj also announced that the Indian Atomic Energy Corporation (NPCI) and Electric De France (EDF) have reached new heights according to the industrial route forward agreement, which were signed in 2018. 

Apart from this, both leaders said that France and India have joined hands to tackle climate change. 

“As you know, France consider that a strong India is in the world’s interest, At the G20 as in climate change negotiations and tomorrow, I hope at the UN Security Council, India is responsible power with which we discuss all key issues. This is what agenda of our discussion today,” said French Minister Le Drian.
