India, China Troops Engage In Brawl Along LAC In Sikkim: Officials

Mumbai: News agency AFP reported on Monday that Indian and Chinese troops clashed at Naku La in the North Sikkim border area, amid the ongoing border stand in eastern Ladakh.

The clash between the soldiers took place three days ago. Media reports quoted Indian military officials as saying that there were casualties on both sides.

The two countries have been at loggerheads along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) since April-May last year. While China began to gain massive military strength with the LAC, India responded by supporting the construction.

Several rounds of talks have failed to produce any significant results in reducing border tensions. The last round of core commander-level talks between the two countries was held on 6 November 2020 in Chushul, East Ladakh.
