India Crossed 2.5 Lakh COVID19 Cases, Reported 9,983 Cases In 24 Hours

Mumbai: With the number of COVID cases doubling every three weeks, India crossed the 2.5 lakh mark on Monday, reporting its highest single-day upsurge of 9,983.

The total count in India has reached 2,56,611 including 1,25,381 active cases. While 1,24,095 people have been cured and discharged. With 206 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll has reached 7,135.

The state-wise numbers of active cases are as follows. The worst-hit state Maharashtra’s figure has spurred to 43,601. Delhi has struck 16,229 active cases, while in Tamil Nadu it has reached 14,399. 

India’s testing data shows no improvement as the country tested 47,74,434 samples in total, out of which 1,08,048 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.

With an increase in Covid-19 figures, India has secured the sixth position in the list of highest affected countries after the US, Brazil, Russia, Spain, and the UK.
