India Defeat Pakistan On Last Ball In T20 World Cup As Virat Kohli Smashes 82*(53)

Mumbai: India defeated Pakistan by four wickets on the last ball in their first T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 stage match in Melbourne on Sunday. India chased down the 160-run target as Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten 82 off 53 deliveries. India has now won nine out of 12 T20I matches against Pakistan.

The Men in Blue snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in a run-chase that will be remembered for ages to come.

Prior, captain Rohit Sharma won the throw and decided to bowl first and his choice was quickly legitimized as Arshdeep Singh bowled an unimaginable new-ball spell to excuse Pakistan Babar Azam for a brilliant duck and later got the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan for a thump of 4 out of 12 balls.

As it seemed to be the Men dressed in Blue who had control of the match, Ifthikar Ahmed and Shan Masood arose as far-fetched legends for Pakistan as both scored half-hundreds of years. Ifthikar’s thump of 51 out of 34 balls pivoted the game while Masood gave him strong help with an unbeaten 42-ball 52. Arshdeep and Hardik wrapped up with three wickets each while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami took 1 scalp each.

India’s pursuit got off to the absolute worst beginning as the two openers were excused for single-digit scores by Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf. Rauf got back to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav for a thump of 15 after the in-structure Indian hitter searched in superb touch. Matters deteriorated for the Men dressed in Blue as Axar Patel was excused for a thump of 2 as his advancement misfired in the group.

As it seemed as though India was gazing at a significant loss, Virat Kohli didn’t surrender and set up a 100-run organization with Hardik Pandya. Kohli set up a memorable show and brought the group once more into the game by taking on Pakistan’s driving pacers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf.

With Mohammad Nawaz bowling with 16 required off the last finish, Hardik Pandya was excused on the main ball. Kohli took responsibility for the circumstances and crushed a major six off Nawaz which was called a no-ball to get what is going on in India’s control.

Karthik’s excusal on the penultimate ball set the counterpart for a strained wrap-up with 2 requiring off 1 ball yet Nawaz bowled a wide. A limit from Ravichandran Ashwin finished an unimaginable triumph for India on the last ball.
