India Is Capable Of Taking Steps To Meet Challenges: PM Narendra Modi

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that India showed last year that it is capable of taking all steps to meet challenges, be it coronavirus or on its borders.

Modi, while addressing a rally of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) here, said that India has demonstrated its capabilities on all fronts as they have mentioned the production of Made in India to protect against viruses.

“Whether it is developing vaccine protective shields or destroying modern missile intentions challenging India, the country is capable on all fronts,” he said.

India is engaged in a deadlock with China. If India is ‘self-reliant’ in vaccines, it is striving with equal vigour to modernize its armed forces, Modi said.

The Prime Minister said that all steps are being taken to ensure that each wing of India’s armed forces is the best, adding that the country now has excellent “war machines”.

In reference to the mid-air refuelling of Rafale fighter aircraft, while they were en route to India, Modi said that it was done in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and Greece also helped. He said that our growing relations with the Gulf countries have been highlighted.

Talking about his government’s efforts to boost domestic defence manufacturing, he said, “India will soon be known as a big manufacturer of defence equipment rather than a big market.
