India Might Change Its ‘No First Use Of Nuclear Weapon’ Policy In Future: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Mumbai: While paying tribute to the late former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Bajpayee, in Pokhran the Indian Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, said that “Till today our nuclear policy is ‘No First Use’. What happens in future depends on the situation” the tribute speech was delivered at Pokhran, the place where the nuclear test was conducted under Atal Ji’s Prime Ministership.

The tension between India and Pakistan is increasing and it was also declared by the Pakistani Prime Minister that the country Pakistan and its citizens were ready to fight a war and that they would do anything to support Kashmiri and make their voice heard in the world. The Rajnath Singh though when delivering the speech stressed more on India’s take on nuclear war.

He said to the reporters, “It is our firm resolve to make our India a nuclear power and yet remain firmly committed to the doctrine of ‘No First Use’. It is true that till now, Indian has strictly adhered to the ‘No First Use’ policy. What happens in future depends on the circumstances.”

The comment came out as a warning to Pakistan that if they pull out any nefarious activity India will not hesitate to be the first to use the Nuclear weapons. However, Pakistan has been spreading false news, sending out threats, claiming wars and deteriorating the integrity of India and it is only valid that India retaliates than letting the enemy destroy the country first.

Even when the centre has repeatedly said that article 370 was an internal matter and it did not involve LoC a place where Pakistan is concerned, Pakistan had taken the issue to UN Security Council. This proposal had also gained the support of Pakistan’s oldest ally, China.
