India Records 2,568 COVID-19 Cases, 20 Deaths In the Last 24 Hours

Mumbai: India has reported 2,568 COVID-19 cases, 2,911 recoveries and 20 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

With today’s fresh cases, the total number of COVID-19 infections recorded is 4,30,84,913.

India’s active caseload currently stands at 19,137 which is 0.04 per cent of the total cases. The Union Health Ministry said that due to the death of 20 new people in a day today, the death toll from covid-19 in India has increased to 5,23,889.

As a sign of relief, the Health Ministry said that the recovery rate is 98.74 percent. In the last 24 hours, 2,911 people have been cured, taking the total number of cured people to 4,25,41,887.

The government data mentioned that 4,19,552 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, which saw a daily positivity rate of 0.61 per cent.

On the vaccination front, 189.41 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide immunization campaign.
