India Reports 14,306 New COVID-19 Cases, Nearly 60% Cases Reported In Kerala

Mumbai: India has reported 14,306 new COVID-19 cases and 443 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The death toll rose to 4,54,712 with 443 fresh deaths, according to the data updated at 8 am.

Officials said Kerala has reported 363 deaths as compared to the previous period, taking the state’s death toll in the last 24 hours to 71.

The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 30,000 for 31 straight days and there have been fewer than 50,000 daily new cases for 120 consecutive days.

The ministry said active cases comprise 0.49 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.18 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

A decrease of 4,899 cases has been recorded in the total active number of COVID-19 cases in the 24-hour period.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.43 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was also recorded at 1.24 per cent.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 3,35,67,367, while the death rate was recorded at 1.33 per cent.

The cumulative dose administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign has exceeded 102.27 crores.
