India Reports 1,569 New COVID-19 Cases, Active Cases Stand At 16,400

Mumbai: India has reported 1,569 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This comes a day after the country saw 2,202 COVID-19 cases.

Active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.75 per cent, the ministry said.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decrease of 917 cases in a span of 24 hours. According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.44 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.59 per cent.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 4,25,84,710, while the death rate stood at 1.22 per cent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign have exceeded 191.48 crores.
