India Reports 20,038 New COVID-19 Cases, Active Cases Stand At 1,39,073

Mumbai: India has reported 20,038 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This comes a day after the country saw 20,139 COVID-19 cases.

Data updated at 8 am shows that the death toll due to the disease has risen to 5,25,604 with 47 new deaths.

The health ministry said that active cases now account for 0.32 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.48 per cent.

The data showed that the country’s active COVID-19 caseload has registered an increase of 2,997 cases in a 24-hour period.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.44 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 4.30 per cent.

According to the data, the number of people cured of the disease rose to 4,30,45,350, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.20 per cent.

According to the ministry, 199.47 crore doses of vaccines have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.
