India Reports 2,713 COVID-19 Deaths In Lowest 1-Day Rise In 41 Days

Mumbai: As many as 2,713 coronavirus deaths were reported in India in the last 24 hours, marking the lowest single-day rise in the number of COVID-19 deaths in 41 days.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare India as a country registered just a little over 1.32 lakh cases in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 2.5 crores, while the active cases stand at 16.35 lakh. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 3.40 lakh.

According to the Ministry of Health, 2.7 lakh people were cured of this deadly disease yesterday alone, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 2.65 crores.

In addition, over 22.41 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to people across the country, the ministry confirmed.

A total of 20.75 lakh tests were conducted on Thursday, taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for COVID-19 detection in the country to 35.74 crores. The daily positivity was recorded at 6.38 per cent. The ministry said that it is less than 10 per cent for 11 consecutive days.

The weekly positivity rate has declined to 7.27 per cent.

The active cases have reduced to 16.35 lakh comprising 5.73 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 93.08 per cent.
