India Reports 8,000 COVID19 Cases For The 2nd Consecutive Day, Becomes the 7th Most Hit Country In World

Mumbai: India witnessed a spike of 8,392 positive cases and 230 deaths in the past 24 hours as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

This is the second consecutive day in India, where the figure has crossed 8 thousand a day. The Country has surpassed Germany and France to become the 7th most affected country by a novel coronavirus.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in India has surged to 1,90,535 including 93,322 active cases and 91,819 recoveries. The death toll is at 5,394.

State-wise figures are: Maharashtra 67,655, Tamil Nadu 22,333, Delhi 19,844 and Gujarat 16,779.

India has reached the Unlocked 1 stage acquiring the option to learn to live with Virus. The government has extended lockdown till 30th June in containment zones, providing relaxations to other areas. 

However, Maharashtra has imposed lockdown all over the state, liberalizing few important activities.
