India Reports Less Than 1 Lakh New COVID-19 Cases For 2nd Day In A Row

Mumbai: According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has reported 92,596 new COVID-19 cases registered in the last 24 hours. For the second consecutive day, the country has reported less than 1 lakh COVID19 cases.

India recorded 86,498 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. On Monday, the country had recorded 1,00,636 new COVID19 cases. The number of COVID cases in India now stands at 2,90,89,069 with 12,31,415 active cases after 57 days.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the weekly positivity rate is currently 5.66 per cent, the daily positivity rate has come down to 4.66 per cent, which is less than 10 per cent for the 16th day in a row.

Notably, the recovery continues to exceed the daily Covid cases. In the last 24 hours, 1,62,664 patients have recovered from the disease.

The total number of people who have been cured in the country has increased to 2,75,04,126, taking the recovery rate to 94.55 per cent. With 2219 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the COVID death toll in the country has risen to 3,53,528.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 37,01,93,563 samples were tested for COVID19 till June 8, out of which 19,85,967 samples were tested yesterday. More than 239 crores (23,90,58,360) doses of the COVID vaccine have been given so far in the nationwide vaccination campaign.
