India Reports Lowest Daily COVID-19 Cases In 75 Days As 60,471 Test Positive

Centre Rushes High-level Teams To 10 States/UT Witnessing Surge In COVID Infections

Mumbai: According to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 60,471 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest one-day rise in the number of cases in the last 75 days.

With this, the total number of cases in the country stands at 2,95,70,881. 2,82,80,472 people have been discharged so far.

The country also reported 2,726 deaths in the last 24 hours. The overall death toll in the country stands at 3,77,031. The number of active cases is 9,13,378.

Meanwhile, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 38,13,75,984 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till June 14. Of these, 17,51,358 samples were tested on Monday, the ICMR said.

According to the Health Ministry, India’s cumulative vaccination count stands at 25,87,13,321. “Cumulatively, 4,34,35,032 persons across 37 States/UTs have received their first dose and total 8,33,808 have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive,” the ministry said.
