India Reports Record 2.7 Lakh New COVID-19 Cases, Total Cases Cross 1.5 Crore-Mark

Mumbai: India reported 2,73,810 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours – the highest single-day spike ever – pushing the country’s overall tally to 1,50,61,919.

According to the Ministry of Health, India reported at least 2,73,810 new COVID-19 cases, with the total number of positive cases in the country being 1,50,61,919. At present, there are 19,29,329 active cases in the country till Monday.

The death toll rose to 1,78,769 with an additional 1,619 deaths. In the last 24 hours, about 1,44,178 people have been recovered from the virus. With this, the total number of recoveries in India stood at 1,29,53,821.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 13,56,133 samples were tested on Sunday. A total of 26,78,94,549 samples have been tested so far. Meanwhile, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccinations administered in the country stands at 12,38,52,566.
